Privacy Policy

Last updated October 31, 2026

In short: Magitile has no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites. Photos of your tiles are looked at on your device and never uploaded. We keep only what the app needs to work and to get better: an account identifier, your purchases and, only if you allow them, a record of how the app is used and a token for notifications about new models. We never sell your information.

Who we are

Magitile is made by Muhammed Emin Aydın. When this policy says “we”, it means Muhammed Emin Aydın. You can reach us at appromiser@protonmail.com about anything in this policy.

What the app uses, and why

Your account

The first time you open Magitile, it creates an anonymous account for you with Firebase Authentication (a Google service), so that your purchases and settings belong to you. If you choose to sign in with Apple or with Google, we receive what that service shares with us, usually your name and email address. Apple can give us a private relay address instead of your real one.

Purchases

Magitile Premium is bought and billed through Apple. We never see your payment details. To know which features to unlock, the app sends your purchase information, linked to your account identifier, to RevenueCat, the service that checks App Store subscriptions for us. Our server asks RevenueCat until when your Premium runs and keeps that date with your account, so that Premium builds download only for you.

How the app is used

The first time you open Magitile, it asks whether you want to share how you use the app. It records nothing unless you choose Share, and you can change your mind at any time under Profile › Settings › Share usage data. Turning it off stops the recording at once and clears what Google Analytics keeps on your device.

If you share, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to learn what to improve and which models people enjoy. It records what is done in the app: the screens opened, the models looked at and built, how far a building guide got, when Premium is offered and whether it is bought, and how many tiles a scan found (never the photo itself). These records are linked to your account identifier and to a random identifier for your installation of the app, and Google works out an approximate location, such as the country and city, from your IP address. The app does not use your device's advertising identifier, nothing it records is used for advertising, and none of it is shared with advertisers. If you share, RevenueCat also reports your purchases and renewals to our Google Analytics, so we can see which parts of the app lead to Premium. We look at these records as totals. Google keeps the detailed records for no longer than 14 months; after that only totals remain.

Notifications

Once you are in the app, it asks whether you want to hear about new models. Only if you say yes, and then allow notifications, does your device listen to one topic, “new-models”, through Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell you when new models are published. That is the only thing we send. You can turn it on or off at any time in the app under Profile › Settings › New models, or in your device's Settings.

Camera and photos

Counting your tiles from a photo happens entirely on your device, using the device's own processing and, on devices that have it, Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence). The photo is not uploaded, and we never see or keep it. You can also count your tiles by hand and never use the camera.

Your tiles, builds and favorites

The tiles you own, the builds you finish or save, your favorites and the scenes you make are stored on your device.

Downloading builds

The app downloads its builds from our storage at Google (Cloud Storage for Firebase). Only the app can fetch them: each download carries your account identifier and a check from Firebase App Check, which uses Apple's App Attest to confirm that the request comes from Magitile on a genuine Apple device. Like any web request, this includes your device's IP address, which Google may keep briefly in its logs for security and to keep the service running.

This website

magitile.app is served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and has no advertising. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics and Metricool. For each page you open they receive the page’s address, the size of your browser window and the page you came from, along with your IP address, as any website does. Neither uses cookies or follows you to other websites, and we look only at totals, such as how many people visited a page. When you follow a link to the App Store, Apple may tell us in aggregate how many downloads came from this site.

The waitlist

Until Magitile is on the App Store, you can leave your email address on this website to hear when it is. With it we keep the language you read the site in, the page you were on, where you came from (the website that sent you, or the campaign named in the link, when there is one) and the time. Your address goes to Cloud Functions and is kept in Cloud Firestore, both Google services, in Europe. As with any web request, Google sees your IP address and may keep it briefly in its logs. We use your address only to send you one email when Magitile is out, in the language you read the site in, and we delete the list once that email has gone out. To be taken off it sooner, email us.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run Magitile for us: Google (Firebase Authentication, App Check, Cloud Functions, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging and Google Analytics), RevenueCat, Apple, Cloudflare and, for this website’s visit counts, Metricool. They process data only on our behalf, may not use it for their own purposes, and protect it at least as well as this policy does. We do not sell or rent your information, and we share it with authorities only when the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account for as long as you use Magitile. You can delete it at any time in the app under Profile › Settings › Delete account, whether you signed in or use the app as a guest. This removes your account and the information linked to it. The usage records in Google Analytics carry no name or email address; if you want them removed too, email us. If you signed in with Apple, you can also remove Magitile from your Apple Account under Sign in with Apple in your device's Settings. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. Deleting your account does not cancel Magitile Premium: subscriptions are managed by Apple, so cancel it in your device's Settings. For anything else, email us and we will delete what we hold about you.

Children

Magitile is made for families to build together, and signing in and buying Premium are meant for parents. The account the app creates is anonymous, and what the app records about its use carries no name, email address or advertising identifier. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your personal information, and to object to how we use it. Email us and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
